Another oil price hike

BIG and small oil companies have announced another hike in pump prices, marking the fifth consecutive week for an increase starting Tuesday

In separate advisories, major oil firms Pilipinas Shell and Petron Corporation announced an increase of prices of their gasoline products by P0.20 per liter, diesel by P0.55 per liter and kerosene by P0.60 per liter effective at 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Chevron Philippines,p also implemented the same price adjustment of their petroleum products on Tuesday but much earlier at 12:01 a.m. while small firm Clean Fuel will adjust its prices of diesel products at the same level at 4:01 p.m. while no movement on prices of its gasoline.

Independent oil companies PTT Philippines, Petro Gazz, Total Philippines, Phoenix Petroleum and Unioil which only sell diesel and gasoline products also imposed the same price adjustments effective at 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Oil industry players said domestic pump prices continue to increase as a result of the effects of continuing global demand for petroleum products.
