ACTRESS-politician Angelika dela Cruz received on Tuesday a death threat in the form of a message with four live bullets, more than a week after the chairman of Barangay Tonsuya was killed by riding-in-tandem suspects in Malabon City.

Dela Cruz, chairman of Barangay Longos in Malabon, shared the photo of the message on her

Facebook account which warned that four more barangay officials, including her, will be their next target.

“Napakadumi po talaga ng politika sa ating bansa .. yan po ang sulat at bala na pinadala sa XO ng aming Barangay na nagsasabi na may 4 daw na susunod at kaya may umiikot na di kilala sa bahay naming mag kapatid. grabe naman kayo kung sino man kayo na gumagawa nito sa amin,” Dela Cuz said.

Last May 28, 2022, Felimon Villanueva, 68, chairman of Brgy. Tonsuya was shot dead by riding-in-tandem criminals while sitting in front of his house at No. 1 C. Perez St. which was captured on CCTV camera installed in the area.

Villanueva was rushed by his relatives to the Manila Central University (MCU) Hospital in Caloocan but died while undergoing medical treatment for gunshot wounds in the body.

It can be recalled that on October of 2013, Dela Cruz, who was running for barangay captain in Brgy. Longos, was conducting a house-to-house campaign when she was attacked by a knife-wielding man.

Her bodyguards, who were provided to her by her husband, pulled her and asked her to bend down to make sure she was safe.

Dela Cruz, whose real name is Maria Lourdes Egger dela Cruz-Casareo, entered politics in 2013 when she run for barangay captain of Barangay Longos and won.

Her younger brother, Edward Dela Cruz, an elected Malabon City councilor, passed away more than 12 years ago in a vehicular accident in San Simon, Pampanga.
