FDCP Channel renamed JuanFlix

The FDCP Channel, the Film Development Council of the Philippines’ (FDCP) online streaming platform is now JuanFlix.

The rebranding aims to make Filipino film gems and hard-to-find short films more accessible to the Filipino viewer with its new website features.

JuanFlix was officially launched on November 11.

Formerly known as the FDCP Channel, JuanFlix aims to inspire and sustain renewed interest in rediscovering classic Filipino masterpieces from revered filmmakers and fresh contemporary short films, documentaries, and features from the industry’s most promising young creators.

With access to over a hundred Filipino films available on the platform, subscribers can truly experience “Sineng Pinoy, Sining Pilipino.”

A number of internationally-acclaimed films from some of the biggest names in Philippine Cinema then and now, Pagdating sa Dulo by Ishmael Bernal, Perfumed Nightmare by Kidlat Tahimik, Insiang by Lino Brocka, Genghis Khan by Manuel Conde and Ma’ Rosa by Brillante Mendoza can be watched online with just a few clicks.

Some of the more recently-awarded films to watch include Pauwi Na by Paolo Villaluna, Gusto Kita With All My Hypothalamus by Dwein Baltazar and Midnight in a Perfect World by Dodo Dayao, among others. With its aim to champion regional filmmakers and aspiring student filmmakers, the channel also takes pride in featuring high-impact selections from recently-conducted short film festivals across the country such as Sine Isla and Sine Kabataan.

With its new look comes new website features and more user-friendly modes of subscription.

It may be streamed using various devices such as computers, tablets and mobile phones, making it a handy and flexible way to tap FDCP’s comprehensive library of both timeless and new films.
