6 wanted men collared after going home for Undas

GAPAN CITY — Six wanted persons who went home to visit their departed loved ones this All Saints’ Day commemoration were nabbed in separate manhunt operations conducted by the police here on Wednesday.

Arrested were Leopoldo Matias Jr., of Bgy. San Nicolas, this city; Antonio Estanislao, 57, driver, of Bgy. Sto. Cristo Norte, this city; Genoveva Estanislao, 71, widow, of Bgy. Sto. Cristo, this city; Virginia Estanislao, 64, of Meycauayan, Bulacan; Jacinto Estanislao, 53, of Vendita 1, Gulod Magallanes, Cavite; and Maxima Ellorda, 75, of Meycauayan, Bulacan.

City police head Lt. Col. Alexie Desamito said the six suspects were collared during joint operations conducted by the local police with the 1st provincial mobile force company-4th Maneuver Platoon, the 303rd RMFB3 and the provincial intelligence unit of the NEPPPO in Bgys. Bayanihan and San Nicolas.

Thearrests were carried out on the strength of an arrest warrant for falsification of public documents issued by acting presiding judge JoAnne Dela Cruz-Malaton, of the Cabanatuan City regional trial court Branch 2 with a recommended bail of P36,000 for each of them for their temporary liberty.

Desamito said the suspects’ arrest warrants came out on October 19, 2021 and were received by the local police on October 27, the day their arrest was effected.

Officer-on-case SSgt. Wilson Mananggit said that five of the arrested Estanislaos are siblings and their arrest was related to a land dispute case filed before a local court in the province.
“Magkakapatid po sila, nauwi sila dahil mag-Uundas kaya sama-sama po sila nang maaresto,” said Mananggit in a text message to this reporter on Friday.
