MC theft suspect shot dead in Gapan gunfight
GAPAN CITY — Police shot dead during a gunfight one of two men who allegedly stole a motorcycle on early Wednesday morning here.
Police head Lt. Col. Alexie Desamito said the armed encounter took place in Bgy. Mahipon at 3:50 a.m.
Her men were dispatched to conduct dragnet operations against two unidentified men who earlier stole at gunpoint a blue Yamaha Mio motorcycle owned by Bryan Jonas Matias, 22, of Tramo Drive, Bgy. San Nicolas in Bgy. San Lorenzo.
Desamito said the suspect fired at the pursuing lawmen, triggering a gunfight which resulted in his instantaneous death.
Recovered at the encounter site were the suspect’s cal. 38 revolver, fired bullets for cal.9mm, and the stolen motorcycle.
