5 female Vietnamese rescued from ‘prostitution den’

OPERATIVES of the Southern Police District (SPD) have rescued five Vietnamese women and arrested two foreign nationals at dawn Friday in an entrapment operation at a condominium unit allegedly being utilized as a prostitution den in Parañaque City.

In his report to National Capital Region Police Office Regional Director, P/BGen. Jonnel Estomo, SPD Director P/BGen. Kirby John Kraft said the raid conducted by elements of the District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) at Unit 5H Tower C, Bayshore I Residence in Bgy. Tambo was carried out at around 2:30 a.m., after receiving reports from one of the alleged customers that Vietnamese women were being lured into a flesh trade.

Kraft identified the arrested male suspect as Huang Diyong, 37, Chinese national, and the Vietnamese woman as Ha Thi Ut, 26.

The two were arrested after receiving marked money consisting of P1,000 genuine bill and 51 pieces of P1,000 boodle money from an undercover cop who posed as a customer.

Rescued during the operation were five Vietnamese women, two of them were 27 years old, one was 25, while two others were 29 and 31 years old.

Police were able to recover from the arrested suspects the marked money, one black Toyota Fortuner bearing plate number NBK 1912 and one Apple iPhone 14 Promax.

Estomo lauded the successful operation by the DSOU against the two foreign nationals, who are now facing charges for violation of Section 3(a) of Republic Act No. 10364, or the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Person Act, before the Parañaque City Prosecutor’s Office.

The rescued Vietnamese women were turned over to the SPD Woman and Children’s Protection Desk for proper disposition.
