CAMP GEN. ALEJO S. SANTOS, City of Malolos, Bulacan — Two suspected hijackers on Saturday were killed in a shootout with the police in Bgy. Sampaloc, San Rafael, Bulacan.

One of the fatalities was identified as Marlon Bautista, 44, of Cauayan, Isabela,

A report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig.Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. by Bulacan police director Col. Relly Arnedo showed two men were also rescued – the 39-year-old truck driver and his 37-year-old male helper.

The victims were found handcuffed and blindfolded inside the truck, along with two cal. .45 pistols.

Arnedo said they were informed of a trailer truck carrying 40 tons of corn with discrepancies in the driver’s identity and the intended destination.

When responding cops arrived in Bgy. Sampaloc, they were met with gunshots, prompting them to fire back, killing the suspects.

Police found inside the truck the driver and his male helper.

Arnedo said the incident underscored the crucial role of community cooperation and police vigilance in maintaining public safety.
