POLICE rescued two Chinese nationals and arrested their two compatriots who reportedly kidnapped and illegally detained them in Paranaque City.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg said the victims, whose name were withheld, were illegally detained by the arrested suspects, identified as Tai Cheng Wei, 26 and Liu Cheng Feng, 31 for two days at the Bayport West NAIA Garden in Brgy. Tambo.

Earlier, the victims applied for an online job at the company where the suspects were working on January 2, Sunday and they were instructed by their compatriots to proceed to their office at Bayport West NAIA Garden in Brgy. Tambo to facilitate their application.

While inside the company premises, the suspects secured their passports and other pertinent documents and were not allowed to leave until they settle for the amount of ransom money demanded from them.

They were allowed to call their friend Jei Wei Gin to deliver the ransom money amounting to P560,000 each which prompted elements of Paranaque Police Detective Unit to conduct an entrapment operation after victim’s friend asked for police assistance.

The suspects were arrested at around 4 p.m. after they received the ransom money amounting to P120,000,000.00 consisting of P20,000.00 genuine bill and two bundles of boodle money.

Paranaque police chief P/Col. Maximo Sebastian, Jr. said after the operation, operatives seized in possession of Lin Cheng Feng the marked money used in the entrapment operation.

“Nonetheless, suspects will be charged for Alleged Serious Illegal Detention (Kidnapping). The SPD leadership will not hesitate to hold the perpetrators accountable regardless of their nationality”. Macaraeg said.
