AUTHORITIES arrested a 39-year-old high-value target (HVT) the other day in a buy-bust operation in Sitio Sto. Toribio, Bypass road, Bgy. Marawoy, Lipa City at 10:00 a.m.

Lipa City Police Station Commander Lt. Col. Ronald P. Cayago said the arrested suspect with the alias “Sibal” is a resident of Purok 4, Bgy. Bulacnin, Lipa City, and an alleged “Yago” drug group member.

Recovered were two plastic sachets of shabu weighing .6 grams, the buy-bust money, a .38 caliber revolver without a serial number, and a Samsung mobile phone.

The suspect will be charged with violating the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002” and RA 10591 or the “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act”.

Based on police records, the “Yago” drug group has 19 members and operates in Lipa City and nearby towns.

The group was included in the “target list” in the 1st quarter of 2021.

Through the relentless efforts of the Batangas PNP (Philippine National Police), 13 of its members, including the leader, were arrested through police operations – the group was “downgraded” from the target list in November 2021.

Despite the group’s drop from the target list, the remaining members are still listed on the watchlist and under constant monitoring for them to be disbanded.

“Our police are serious about dismantling the criminal groups causing ‘chaos’ in our area. Your information is a great help for the success of our operation, so we will continue to work together for peace and order,” P/Brig. Gen. Antonio C. Yarra said.
