Why marriage not in Jerald and Kim’s immediate plans
JERALD Napoles and Kim Molina have been together since they did “Rak of Aegis” on stage ten years ago. They are now together again on the big screen in “Girlfriend na Puede Na”. They admit they’re living in but haven’t they talked yet of facing the altar yet?
“We talk about our future at alam naman namin kunsaan kami papunta. E, sa ngayon, we focus muna on our careers and also we put up our own business, so inaasikaso namin ‘yun. We have FitMix, a premium dark chocolate slimming drink and FitMix Coffee Blend that will help you lose weight. We also launched our own clothing line. So now, we feel that we need to maximize muna our individual potentials before we settle down and start our own family.”
What qualities of Kim does he like and he doesn’t like? We are very open to each other. Ako kasi, feeling ko, pag may gusto ako, 95 percent nang tama ako, pero kapag nag-usap kami and I hear her side, then I realize na tama rin naman siya. She makes me become aware of what I lack. Sa ngayon, thankful lang kaming we have each other.”
They’re also thankful to Viva for giving them the chance to do drama in “Ikaw at Ako at ang Ending”, for which Jerald won a best actor award at a Filipino filmfest in San Francisco.
“But now, balik kami sa romantic comedy for which the viewers accepted us in ‘Jowable’ and ‘Babaeng Walang Pakiramdam’. Nagulat na lang ako when Kim as Pam, along with her friends, approached me to convince me na magpanggap na boyfriend niya. Bibihisan daw nila at igu-groom para magmukhang mas sosyal.”
In the story, Kim’s character Pam is actually just using him to make her real boyfriend of seven years, played by Gab Lagman as Jiggs, jealous.
Kim’s ploy worked because Gab does get jealous and tries to woo her back, but would she still be willing to accept him now that Jerald has proven to be so endearing with his so many winning ways? The movie is directed by Benedict Mique, based on his own story with full script written by Noreen Capili and Aya Anunciacion. How is it working with Direk Benedict?
“First time ko with him at nagkasundo agad kami kasi makulit din siya. He’s very collaborative and I think we’ve come up with a romcom that is truly very entertaining and will please all kinds of viewers.”
