Vergeire visits ‘PinasLakas’ vax drive in Cavite
IMUS CITY, Cavite – Department of Health (DOH) Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Dr. Maria Rosario S. Vergeire personally visited the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination drive in industrial parks in the province of Cavite Wednesday, August 3, 2022.
Vergeire together with DOH Assistant Secretary Bestor Santiago, DOH Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) Director Ariel Valencia first went to EMI-Yazaki in Aguinaldo Highway, Bgy. Anabu 1-A, Imus, Cavite and was welcomed by Imus City Mayor Alex “AA” Advincula and witnessed the inoculation of the 1st and 2nd booster vaccine of around 100 employees.
Vergeire also went to Hayakawa Electronic Philippines Corp. in Cavite Export Processing Zone Authority (CEPZA) in Rosario, Cavite, where 923 employees were inoculated with a booster dose.
The purpose of OIC Vergeire’s visit is to strengthen collaboration and relationships with the private sector to achieve the target under the “PinasLakas” campaign, which aims to increase the number of those given the primary dose of the vaccine, especially the booster shot to those who have already been fully vaccinated.
Vergeire also led the vaccination of some staff members of the said factories with booster shots witnessed by Nobihiro Kato, president of EDS Manufacturing Company (EMI-Yazaki), and Takashi Kawano, Hayakawa Electronics Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and president.
The DOH wants to ensure that the continued and intensified campaign of Pinaslakas is focused on factories, schools, markets, and churches, which was kicked off nationwide last July 26, 2022.
