Tolentino distributes aid in quake-hit Abra
PIDIGAN, Abra – Senator Francis “Tol” N. Tolentino on Saturday visited the quake-hit Abra following the Magnitude 7.0 earthquake that jolted vast parts of Northern Luzon last month.
In coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Tolentino personally turned over monetary and relief assistance to some 3,000 affected families in the municipalities of Pidigan, Bangued, and Lagangilang.
The said towns were among those badly hit by the strong earthquake last July 27.
Abra Governor Dominic Valera joined Tolentino during the distribution of aid and personally thanked the lawmaker for his sincere efforts in helping the quake-hit province back to its feet.
The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) earlier reported that around 140,000 households in Northern were severely affected by the July 27 earthquake.
Aside from the said towns, Tolentino’s office also facilitated the distribution of relief assistance to more than 2,000 families in the municipalities in Sallapadan and Bucay in Abra and another 1,000 households in Bauko, Mountain Province.
