ALANGALANG, Leyte – THE Tingog Party-list group has led the distribution of financial assistance to at least 100 scholars under the Tulong-Dunong Program here.

The scholars received the assistance from Tingog Party-list led by Rep. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez, chairperson of the House Committee on the Welfare of Children, as part of the continuing financial educational grant under the Commission on Higher and Technical Education (CHED) led by chairman Popoy de Vera.

The student-beneficiaries of the scholarship program came from the Visayas State University.

The Tingog Party-list whose nominees include actress-singer Karla “Mamshie” Estrada, proud mother of actor and recording artist Daniel Padilla, also underscored the importance for the students to finish their studies, explaining education is the greatest equalizer in life.

“Despite the uncertainties of the future caused by the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease-19) pandemic, Tingog hopes that the fear, confusion and other threats posed by the global health crisis will not hold you back to finish your studies. Education is your ticket to a brighter future,” the Tingog Party-list said.

The Tingong Party-list group vowed to further work harder to ensure that more students will benefit from its scholarship program.

During the turnover of checks, the Tingog Party-list group was joined by Alangalang Vice Mayor Edwin Jomadiao, Councilors Kenneth Spice de Veyra, Vernon Jolbitado, and Mervin Varona, and Reynaldo Capon Jr., Alan Tante, and Darunee Faye Marcial.
