Squad leader of NPA reb killed in Bataan gunbattle
CAMP TOLENTINO, Bataan- A top NPA commander operating in the region was killed Saturday night in Pinulot, Dinalupihan.
Col. Joel K. Tampis, Bataan police director, identified the slain rebel as one Ka Boy alias Randy, said to be the Second Vice Commanding Officer (CO,) and KLG West squad leader of the Segunda Platoon operating along the tri-boundaries of Bataan, Pampanga and Zambales.
Dinalupihan police chief Lt. Col. Emelito dela Cruz said they recovered the rebel’s body as soon as the smoke of the guns cleared.
The police and army forces were patrolling the hilly area of Bgy. Pinulot, Dinalupihan, Bataan when they chanced upon a group of rebels, triggering a gunbattle.
Recovered were a long firearm, bullets, a handheld radio and a cellphone.
