SPD nabs 3 for P3.4M shabu

THREE young men yielded more than P3 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation Monday night in Taguig City.

Steven Paunil, 22, a construction worker and resident Magahan Bgy. Matado, Paranaque City, Glen Esperansate, 24 and Faisan Dunadag, 18, both of Bgy. Central Kalinga, Taguig City were arrested after they handed a pack of shabu to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for P5,000 marked money past 11 p.m. along Visayas St. South Signal, Taguig.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg said elements of District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) recovered from the arrested suspects more or less 500 grams of shabu placed in an eco bag with an estimated value at P3,400,000.00, the P1,000 marked money, P4,000 drug money, and a motorcycle.

The arrested suspects who are now facing charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 under Art II of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 are presently detained at the SPD-DDEU temporary custodial facility while the recovered pieces of evidence were turned over to SPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.

Macaraeg lauded the success of the all-out drug buy-bust operation of the joint operating teams of DDEU. District Intelligence Division (DID), and District Mobile Force Battalion (DMFB) under the direct supervision of P/Maj. Renante Galang led to the confiscation of shabu worth P3.4 million.
