Short cut to death
A CONSTRUCTION worker died after falling from a creek while taking a short cut on his way home in Quezon City.
The victim Angelo Dumayan, 39, a resident of Block 1, Lot 18, Doña Tomasa Subdivision, Barangay, San Bartolome, Novaliches, Quezon City died on the spot due to head injuries and bruises in different parts of his body.
A report from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit of the Quezon City Police District showed the incident happened at around 4 p.m. on December 18, 2021.
Alicia Dumayan, the victim’s younger sister, said Angelo, was scaling the walls of Tullahan River to have a shorter route when going home from work to save transportation fare.
And on that said date, the victim was seen again climbing the walls when he accidentally slipped and fell into the creek.
A witness relayed the incident to neighbors who responded and discovered the lifeless body of the victim in the river.
During investigation, relatives of the victim executed a handwritten waiver manifesting that they were no longer interested in any further investigation regarding the death of the victim as they are morally convinced that the victim died accidentally.
