MANILA Mayor Maria Sheilah “Honey” Lacuna-Pangan yesterday said they are ready for the implementation of Car-Free Sunday on Roxas Boulevard tomorrow.

Mayor Honey said city hall field personnel are continuously checking the road and sidewalk conditions of Roxas Boulevard, from Padre Burgos to Quirino Avenue while traffic personnel have already set up a traffic rerouting map.

“Dahil legit fitness activity ang Move Manila sa Sunday, mangunguna sa fitness motivation sina celebrity fitness couple Coach Jim Saret at Coach Toni Saret bilang programs hosts, and of course, kami rin ni Vice Mayor Yul Servo ay kasamang sasabak sa fitness activities,” the mayor said.

The mayor said different groups of Manila School Parent-Teachers Association (SPTA) will join a Zumba dance competition which will be held in the morning along Roxas Boulevard that will bring more fun to the event.

”Para lalong ganahang mag-exercise ang mga pupunta sa Roxas Boulevard mula 5 a.m. hanggang 9 a.m., sasamahan sila ng mga delegasyon mula sa iba’t ibang sektor dito sa Maynila. Sasabay sila sa walking, jogging, running, at biking. Pwede ring mag-skateboarding o roller skating,” the mayor added.

The city chief executive said the city road marshals will take care of the flow of participants to avoid any untoward incidents.

Mayor Honey said she invited several groups including Barangay Councils and Sangguniang Kabataan, city hall officials, non-government organizations, school parent-teachers associations, sports clubs, running clubs, and cycling clubs.
