The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday reduced its on-site working capacity beginning January 10following the surge in what appeared to be the highly-contagious Omicron variant of the novel coronavirus among high court officials and personnel.

In Memorandum Order No. 4-2022, 1/3 of the workforce shall be required to physically report on Mondays and Tuesdays, another 1/3 on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and the remaining 1/3 on Fridays and Saturdays, in order to minimize close physical contact among SC personnel.

All those who were not scheduled to work on-site shall be under the work-from-home arrangement, the memorandum continued.

However, the reduced working capacity shall not apply to the Office of the Bar Chairperson and Office of the Bar Confidant, Office of the Administrative Services, and Receiving Section of the Judicial Records Office, it added.

Metro Manila is now under Alert Level 3 from January 3 to January 15, 2022.

The heightened alert level is in response to an increase in cases of COVID-19 and the detection of more local cases of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus in the Philippines.
