LAKAS-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has stepped up her campaign by barnstorming Manila on Saturday, bringing her platform and the UniTeam’s message of unity directly into the country’s capital.

Duterte’s call for support and for her presidential tandem former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. was well received and accepted by the city residents, although Manila is a bailiwick of another presidential candidate.

Duterte fired off her campaign in Manila by visiting the Golden Mosque in Quiapo wherein she got the support of the local Muslim community.

She was accompanied by Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) mayoral aspirant Atty. Alex Lopez, senatorial candidates Herbert “Bistek” Bautista, and Robin Padilla, a Muslim convert.

Padilla appealed to his Muslim brothers to vote for Marcos and Duterte.

Later, she proceeded to Galas, Quezon City with Lopez and Bautista where she met and got the backing of community leaders.

Accompanied by officials, including PDP-Laban Rep. Manny Lopez, former Manila Rep. Harry Angping and Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian, Duterte also went to Tondo District, visiting its barangays and meeting with the poor residents.

At the multi-purpose hall of Barangay 101 in Tondo, the vice presidential candidate met with Barangay Chairman William Ypon, who is a Davaoeño.

She went straight to Vitas, Tondo and visited a family and other residents there.

Duterte, who is also the chair of the Lakas-CMD, held a “meet-and-greet” with residents of Happy Land, Gawad Kalinga, Helping Hand and Aroma at the covered court of Barangay 105, Tondo.

In all of her meetings with officials and residents of Manila, Duterte delivered the UniTeam’s message of hope, unity and patriotism.

The Davao City mayor capped her campaign in the country’s capital by meeting with the residents of Barangay 120 in Parola, Tondo, wherein she also thanked fire volunteers for stopping the fire that razed Parola Compound last month.

Duterte also paid a courtesy visit on Tondo Church Parish Priest, Father Estelito Villegas at 600 Chacon St., Tondo, Manila.
