VICE presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte got the endorsement of One Cebu, a dominant political party in the most vote-rice province of the country as well as the Tawi-tawi governor.

In an interview, Mayor Sara personally thanked Cebu Governor and One Cebu president Gwen Garcia for the endorsement.

Mayor Sara was in Cebu to grace the inauguration of UniTeam headquarters in Cebu. This is her second visit to the province since she declared candidacy for the May 9 elections. During her visit she was accompanied by Lakas-CMD president Majority Leader Martin Romualdez and Hugpong ng Pagbabago president Davao Occidental Gov. Claude Bautista.

Meanwhile, local officials of Tawi-Tawi gathered to show support for the Lakas-CMD and Hugpong ng Pagbabago vice presidential candidate.

In a statement, Tawi-Tawi Governor Yshmael “Mang” Sali said the country needs a leader like Vice Presidential aspirant Sara Duterte who naturally “shares” and “cares” for Filipinos especially during this pandemic.

Sali, who has been a staunch supporter of Mayor Sara long before she filed for vice presidency, also shares a deep connection with her in public service.

In September 2019, the province declared the Davao City mayor as its adopted daughter because of her “affection and concern” for Tawi-Tawi.

The governor even recalled Duterte’s efforts in ensuring quality public service is delivered and that the people are able to benefit from government programs.

On March 16, Sali led the province’s leaders in meeting with Duterte as they pledged support for her candidacy.
