BATANGAS CITY – FOR Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, equal enforcement of the law on Filipinos is key in the fight to eradicate criminality and illegal drugs in the Philippines.

During an ambush interview in Batangas City Tuesday, the presidential daughter was asked how she intended to take on the problems of crime and the illegal drug menage should she become victorious on May 9.

“Ang sa atin, itutuloy natin ‘yung mga nasimulan ni Pangulong Duterte. Nakita natin na sa kanyang administrasyon, bumaba talaga ‘yung crime rate sa buong Pilipinas at ang gagawin natin is to–kung ano ‘yung ginawa natin doon sa Davao City,” Duterte told reporters at the Batangas Livelihood Center after the meet-and-greet with local leaders and supporters led by Batangas Gov. Hermilando “Dodo” I. Mandanas, a stalwart of the ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), who declared support to Marcos and Duterte last December.

“I-emphasize natin sa ating mga law enforcement agencies particularly sa ating mga kapulisan, sa Philippine National Police (PNP) natin na ang unang-unang trabaho nila, isang pantay-pantay na enforcement ng ating batas,” stressed Duterte, who chairs the Lakas-CMD.

“That is the reason why Davao City is awarded one of the best city police office dahil naiintindihan nila kung ano ‘yung mga dapat nilang gawin, particularly against anti-criminality,” she noted.

This is not the first time that Mayor Duterte espoused the notion of equality during her vice presidential bid.

During the BBM-Sara UniTeam’s campaign kickoff last February 8 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan, Duterte said: “Sa aking paglilingkod, ginagawa ko ang natutunan ko mula sa aking mga magulang, dapat panta- pantay ang lahat, walang mayaman, walang mahirap. Walang babae, walang lalake. Walang bata, walang matanda. Lahat tayo ay Pilipino.”

Duterte is the running mate of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer, former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.
