BATANGAS CITY – LAKAS-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte on Tuesday said she and presidential candidate former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. wanted to cover more areas of the country in their ongoing campaign and this is the reason why voters do not always see them together in rallies and other events.

She made the statement in response to a question from a journalist on why Marcos is not with her during the campaign of the UniTeam in Batangas on Tuesday.

“Ganoon talaga po ang strategy ng UniTeam dahil hindi pupuwedeng magsama kami lagi. Otherwise, hindi namin maco-cover ang buong Pilipinas,” Duterte said.

“Kung saan man siya pumunta, dala-dala niya ang Bongbong Marcos at Sara Duterte at ganoon din ako. So that way, we cover so many areas sa Pilipinas,” she added.

The vice presidential bet said that in cases where there is a need for them to campaign together, then both of them will be present.

“And we only collaborate and converge on areas where our strategy is the same, na doon dapat kami magsama,” Duterte said.

In Batangas City, the Davao City mayor inaugurated the offices of her support groups KISLAP and MASADA before proceeding to meet with political leaders of Batangas led by Governor Hermilando “Dodo” Mandanas, a stalwart of the ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).

In the afternoon, Duterte motored to Oriental Mindoro where she was scheduled to meet the province’s officials led by Gov. Humerlito Dolor and Rep. Doy Leachon.
