SAN Beda Red Cubs and Makati Dreamchasers shared the limelight in the Pinoy Youth Dreamers Christmas International Basketball Challenge held last Dec.30 at the Barangay Sta. Lucia covered court in San Juan City.

The Red Cubs leaned on Kieffer Andre Herrera and Joaquin Ludovice to roll back

Dreamchasers, 86-59, and capture the title in the U16 category.

Herrera, youngest son of AMA University coach Mark Herrera, scattered 20 points while Ludovice added 17 points for the Red Cubs of coach Miko Roldan.

Aeron Manansala and Mark Martinez finished with with 23 and 14 points, respectively, in the losing effort of the Dreamchasers for coach Emerick Sajota.

Father Duenas-Guam survived 1Negros Jaguars Bacolod, 51-47, to clinch third place in 16-Under class.

The 1-2 punch of Renz Velasco and Ariel Diloy powered Dreamchasers’ 62-54 victory over JH Athletics in the Under-19.

Velasco scored 20 points and Diloy had 16 points for the Emerick Sajota-mentored Dreamchasers.

Joseph Espiritu Jr. led the JH Athletics of coach Keno Bautista with 21 points.

Father Duenas-Guam also bagged third place in the 19-under after defeating Team Elorde, 67-37.

Meanwhile, the Pinoy Youth Dreamers, headed by multi-titled coach Beaujing Acot, will conduct a four-day tryouts for their basketball campaign on April 6-9 in Singapore.

They will be divided into three categories, U14 (Born 2009-2010), U16 (Born 2007 to 2008) and U18 (2005 to 2006).

Tryouts are scheduled on Jan. 7, 8, 14 and 15 with the venue to be announced in Pinoy Youth Dreamers Facebook page.

For interested players, bring a copy of your valid passport, and commitment fee of 10,000 deductible from the package.
