SAN Miguel Beer stakes its unbeaten record when it takes on sister team Magnolia Chicken Timplados in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

In a rematch of their Commissioner’s Cup title showdown, the Beermen and the Hotshots take the floor at 7:30 p.m. with both teams looking for a win to further boost their chances for the top two seedings twice-to-beat bonus.

“I always say this — if we share the ball, we’re a great team. If we don’t, we’re a normal team,” said San Miguel coach Jorge Gallent, while reminding his players not to take a Magnolia team riding on a four-game winning streak lightly.

“We’ll treat them as a threat to us,” added Gallent.

His Magnolia counterpart, Coach Chito Victolero, said his team is determined to keep their sharp form, especially with the Barangay Ginebra Kings (6-3) and NLEX Road Warriors (5-3) breathing down their necks.
