Raps filed vs suspects in the murder of crime gang member
CAMP BRIG.GEN. VICENTE LIM, Calamba, Laguna — Charges of kidnapping with homicide on Tuesday were filed before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor in Batangas City against seven suspects in the killing of alleged crime gang member Eugene del Rosario, Police Regional Office 4A (Calabarzon) Director Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said yesterday.
Nartatez said that the Taal police led by its chief, Police Maj. Dante Lalap Majadas, family and witnesses have already referred the criminal complaint to the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor.
The incident went viral on both social and main media and have gained the interest of the general public over the past weeks.
The investigation started with the CCTV footage from a gasoline station in Taal, Batangas. In the video, suspects in two vehicles snatched del Rosario last August 16.
The next day, del Rosario was found dead and his body dumped in Sariaya, Quezon.
Police said the live-in partner of del Rosario, Jane Maureen Cabello, and his mother Judith Del Rosario revealed the involvement of the victim in the series of “Basag-Kotse” incidents in the provinces of Batangas and Cavite, and some parts of Metro Manila.
They also revealed that Eugene had previously given a statement to the police the identities of his group members.
