Randy turns down Willie’s offer
RANDY Santiago is happy and proud to be part of “Sing Galing”, the hit and award-winning videoke game show on TV5.
“Sobrang galing ng lahat ng contestants,” he says. “Maging ‘yung sa kiddie edition o ‘yung sa adult edition. Grabe! Lahat sila, so impressive, nakakatuwa. Lahat sila, pang grand finals, e. Yung finals for the kids is on December 3 and yung sa regulars, December 10.”
He says we should not miss the finals as it is a sure winner. “Tine-tape namin ang show pero kapag pinapanood ko na sa TV, tuwang-tuwa pa rin ako. Yung kuwento ng mga bata, nakakadurog ng puso. Si Gloc 9 nga, napahagulgol sa kuwento ng isang bata ng ang tatay nasa Saudi. Naalaala niya ‘yung sarili niyang kabataan. Pati ako, naluha. Buti na lang naka-shades ako kaya hindi nila kita.
Don’t miss the finals kasi pasabog siya talaga.”
Randy is turning 62 years old on November 26, the eldest of the Santiago brothers that include Rowell, Jun and Raymart, the sons of Director Pablo Santiago and former actress Cielito Legaspi.
He hit it big in the mid-80s as host of “Lunch Date” and he came up with several hit songs like “Hindi Magbabago” and “Babaero”. He also did some hit comedy movies like “Taray at Teroy” with Maricel Soriano and “Paikot-ikot”.
One of his Hawi Boys in “Lunch Date” was Willie Revillame who’d later on have his own successful solo career. Willie is now getting him to be part of ALL TV Network on Channel 2 but he cannot jump ober da bakod that easily.
“My contract with TV5 is until the end of the year pa,” he says. “Gusto ni Willie na magkasama kami uli. I heard magkakaroon din ng sariling noontime show ang ALL TV, but as of now, nothing is definite. Willie has plenty of ideas at gusto rin niyang magdirek ako for them. So, nothing is sure yet. As of now, nasa TV5 pa rin ang focus ko, so don’t miss the finals of ‘Sing Galing’. Promise, hindi kayo magsisisi.”
