Quezon gunrunner-cum-drug dealer busted
PHILIPPINE National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group director Brig. Gen. Romeo M. Caramat Jr. yesterday announced the arrest of a suspected member of a gunrunning and drug trafficking gang in Quezon province during an operation in Candelaria municipality.
The official identified the accused as 63-year-old Conrado de Villa, described as a member of the “Calualhatian Criminal Group” who was arrested on Tuesday in his home at Sitio 4, Bgy. Masin Sur in Candelaria, Quezon.
Members of the CIDG Quezon Provincial Field Unit and the local police raided the suspect’s house on the strength of a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013 issued by Lucena City Executive Judge Agripino Bravo last April 14.
Recovered inside the suspect’s place were two cal. .45 semi-automatic pistols, three cal..45 magazines and 15 cal. .45 ammunition.
Caramat said that the suspect will be facing charges for violation of RA 10591.
