QUEZON City cops arrested three “akyat-bahay” robbery suspects during a follow-up operation at Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City.

P/Lt. Col. Morgan Aguilar, station commander of Batasan Police Station (PS 6), said the suspects were all residents of Bgy. Holy Spirit, QC.

A report showed that at about 5:30 p.m. of November 17, 2022, a victim was at work when her son informed her that they were “robbed.”

She immediately went home and was surprised that the main door was already broken and was forcibly opened. The three cellphones and cash amounting to P1,200 were already missing.

The victim sought the help of the Barangay Commonwealth office and eventually reported the incident to PS 6.

Later, PS 6 received information from a concerned citizen who saw the incident and said that the suspects were hiding in the same barangay.

A follow-up operation was immediately conducted that resulted in the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of a Samsung Tab A tablet; however, the two cellular phones and the money were not recovered.

The witness positively identified the suspects as the same persons who entered the victim’s house.

The suspects will be charged with robbery under Article 293 of the Revised Penal Code before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.

“Nagpapasalamat ako sa ating saksi na hindi nag-atubiling isuplong ang mga suspek sa kanilang gawain. Patuloy nawa ang publiko sa pakikipagtulungan para sa ikasusugpo ng krimen sa ating lungsod,” Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director Police Brigadier General Nicolas D. Torre III said.
