QUEZON City Police District (QCPD) Director Police Brigadier General Nicolas D. Torre III announced the arrest of two robbery holdup suspects in a follow-up operation by operatives of Galas Police Station (PS 11) on Thursday in Manila.

P/Lt. Col. Richard Ian Ang, station commander of PS 11, said the captured suspects were both residents of Manila City.

Based on the initial report, at around 12:50 a.m. of November 17, 2022, a female victim was holding her cellphone and was waiting for her live-in partner along Cordillera cor Bayani Sts., Barangay San Isidro, QC.

Suddenly, the suspects who were on board a motorcycle appeared. They reportedly grabbed her cellphone at gunpoint and escaped toward Manila.

The victim’s live-in partner saw the commotion and followed the suspects until they reached the suspects’ residence.

He immediately reported the incident to PS 11, who responded and conducted a follow-up operation which resulted in their arrest. They were positively identified by the victim’s live-in partner.

Recovered from the suspects were a .38 revolver loaded with four pieces of ammunition, a Honda Click motorcycle, and the victim’s cellphone.

The suspects will be charged with Robbery and Violation of RA (Republic Act) 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Torre III commended PS 11 for the successful arrest of the suspects and also lauded the citizen for promptly reporting the incident to the authorities.

“Pinapaalalahanan ko po ang publiko na mag-doble ingat dahil sa panahon ngayon ay nagsusulputan na naman ang mga kawatan. Hinihikayat ko ang publiko na kaagad ipagbigay-alam sa kinauukulan ang mga ganitong insidente upang mabigyan ng agarang aksyon,” he added.
