QC store robbery suspects fall in Manila

POLICEMEN arrested two brothers and a cohort who allegedly robbed a convenience store in Brgy. Valencia, Cubao, Quezon City during a hot pursuit operation conducted by Cubao Police Station (PS 7) and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) in Manila.

PLt.Col. Elizabeth Jasmin, PS 7 commanddr, identified the suspects as Rodolfo Rivera, 22; Rolando Rivera, 18, both residents of Pampanga St., Gagalangin, Tondo, Manila; and Jomari Salonga, 18, resident of Varona St., Brgy. 80, Tondo, Manila.

Report showed that at about 4 a.m. of November 9, 2021, the suspects posed as customers at a Ministop convenience store located on 5 CGI Building, Brgy. Valencia, Cubao, Quezon City, and at gunpoint, robbed the employees and took cash amounting to more or less P150,000, a cellular phone, and a wifi modem.

The security guard noticed the commotion inside and confronted one of the suspects.

However, the said suspect pointed the handgun at the guard but did not fire.

The security guard immediately drew his firearm and fired, hitting two of the suspects who escaped and fled on board a black motorcycle towards Aurora Blvd. going to Manila.

The incident was reported to PS 7 elements who immediately conducted a hot pursuit operation together with CIDU operatives led by PMaj. Loreto Tigno.

Later, CIDU operatives received an information from the Tondo Medical Center regarding two patients with gunshot wounds. They immediately coordinated with Manila Police District (MPD) and proceeded to the hospital that led to the arrest of the suspects.

Investigation showed that the suspects are involved in a series of robbery hold-up in Manila and nearby cities.

The suspects were believed involved ib the robbery-hold-up at the Lawson Convenience Store on Quezon Avenue, Brgy. South Triangle, Quezon City on November 4, 2021.

The suspects will be charged with robbery before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
