CAMP BRIG. GEN. VICENTE P. LIM, Canlubang, Calamba City, Laguna – A total of 1,369 personnel of the Police Regional Office 4A (Calabarzon) tested negative in the mandatory drug test held on November 23 in this camp.

Among those who underwent drug testing were officers and members of the Police Regional Office Calabarzon Regional Headquarters, Regional Support Units and Technical Support Company-Regional Mobile Force Battalion 4A.

All had negative results for drug use based on the urine test conducted.

The mandatory drug testing applies to every member of the unit participated in by Police Commissioned Officers, Police Non-Commissioned Officers, and Non-Uniformed Personnel.

It aims to ensure that each member is free from the influence of illegal substances and to affirm to the public that they can trust in the credibility and reliability of the police force.

In a message by Regional Director Brig. Gen Paul Kenneth Lucas delivered by the Chief of the Regional Staff, Col. Mariano Rodriguez, he said that the fight against illegal drugs is not only a national concern but one that directly impacts the effectiveness of our law enforcement efforts.

“A drug-free workplace is a fundamental prerequisite for us to effectively fulfill our duty to serve and protect the people. It is an investment in our collective integrity and an assurance that our officers are fit to carry out their duties without any compromise,” Lucas said.

The Central Luzon top cop added that the mandatory drug testing will also be implemented in the Police Provincial Offices down to the Municipal and City Police Stations across the region.
