CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Central Luzon cops battled it out at the Police Regional Office 3’s (PRO3) Tactical Drone Competition 2023 at PRO3 Grandstand, Camp Captain Julian Olivas.

PRO3 drone operators from different PPOs (Police Provincial Offices), CPOs (City Police Offices), and RMFB (Regional Mobile Force Battalion) 3 joined the said competition, showcasing their skills and competence in drone operation.

The activity assessed the effectiveness and efficiency of the region on the current police operational procedures using the lightweight aerial asset, including the degree and level of adequacy of preparation, effectiveness, and accurate response in addressing various situations.

The participants displayed their basic operational and tactical drone techniques and performed in three stages – obstacle course, tactical identification of the target, and drone support to the tactical operation.

PRO 3 director Brig. Gen Jose Hidalgo Jr. witnessed the event and served as the keynote speaker.

In his message, Hidalgo commended the cops’ dedication and enthusiasm for the innovation of the police force.

The RMFB 3, under Lt. Col. Jay Dimaandal, emerged as the champion.

“The use of drones in law enforcement is a game-changer for the PNP. These aerial vehicles provide real-time surveillance and intelligence-gathering capabilities, making it easier for us to respond to emergency situations and monitor large areas, especially those involved in anti-insurgency operations,” Hidalgo said.
