PRO1 director gets top PNPA Excellence Award

POLICE Regional Office 1 (PRO1) director, Brigadier General John C. Chua on Saturday led two other Ilocos-Pangasinan officers in getting recognition from the PNP Academy during its alumni homecoming.

Chua, a member of PNPA ‘Tagapagtaguyod’ Class of 1992 received the PNPA Best Senior Officer for Administration Award from the PNPA Alumni Association, Inc. or PNPAAAI during ceremonies at the PNPA headquarters in Camp General Mariano Castañeda in Silang, Cavite.

On the other hand, La Union Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Lambert Suerte and Urdaneta City Police Station chief, Lieutenant Col. Benson Pimentel were adjudged by the PNPAAAI as the Best Senior Officer for Operations and Best Junior Officer for Administration.

Col. Suerte is a member of PNPA Class 1998 while Lt. Col. Pimentel is from PNPA Class 2006.

The three received the distinguished Lakan Awards for their outstanding accomplishments in the field of police administration and operations leading to a secure and peaceful Ilocos-Pangasinan region conducive to live, invest and do business.

Brig. Gen. Chua was also recognized for his exceptional leadership, integrity and dedication to duty.

“This recognition is a testament to the officers’ hard work, passion, and commitment to public service, making the Ilocos Region a safer, peaceful, and progressive region,” said Brig. Gen. Chua, who was a former Cordillera Police Regional Office Deputy Regional Director for Administration before being installed by PNP chief, General Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr. as PRO11 regional director last October 24.

Gen. Azurin, himself a former Ilocos-Pangasinan police director, said he completely has trust and faith in Brig. Gen. Chua’s ability to lead the ‘home of the most disciplined cops’ in the country due to his great accomplishments and dedication to work.
