THE BBM-Sara UniTeam of presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. and his running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte announced the partial list of its candidates for senators in the May 2022 elections.

Atty. Vic Rodriguez, BBM’s chief of staff and spokesman, named Rep. Rodante Marcoleta as the first pick, along with lawyer Larry Gadon, Senator Juan Miguel ‘Migz’ Zubiri, former Public Works and Highways secretary Mark Villar, former senator and Rep. Loren Legarda, former Palace spokesman Harry Roque, former senator Jinggoy Estrada, former defense secretary Gilbert Teodoro, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, and former Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista.

The list represents a mixture of seasoned and proven political personalities who have excelled in their respective endeavors, according to Rodriguez.

Marcoleta, Sagip party-list representative, is currently a House Deputy Speaker and has been in Congress since 2013. He was widely known for slashing the budget of the Commission on Human Rights to P1,000 in 2017.

Gadon, a law practitioner, had been helping the BBM team for years and has slowly climbed the senatorial survey just a few notches lower from the top 12.

The addition of Senator Zubiri in the BBM-Sara UniTeam has bolstered the unity ticket’s already sturdy position in Mindanao, which is his family’s traditional bailiwick.

Like Zubiri, who is in fifth spot, Villar and Gatchalian, sixth and eight respectively, have been consistently hugging the top 12 in the senatorial survey.

Estrada, on the other hand, has been consistently within the ‘magic 12’ circle of senatoriables in a number of credible surveys, together with Legarda.
