PNP-DEG agents arrest 7 ‘drug dealers’, seize over P1.4-M shabu in Bulacan

TWO separate anti-narcotics operation in Bulacan on Thursday and Saturday conducted by agents of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group resulted in the arrest of six known drug personalities in the province and the confiscation of over P1.4 million worth of shabu, PNP-DEG director, Brigadier General Narcisco D. Domingo said.

The sting inside Block 10, Lot 3, Borland Homes in Barangay San Vicente in Sta. Maria municipality conducted by members of the DEG Special Operations Unit 3 around 3:20 a.m. Saturday led in the arrest of five of the suspects and the dismantling of a clandestine drug den, the official told PNP chief, General Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr.

Arrested by members of the DEG-SOU 3 led by Lieutenant Colonel Heryl Bruno were Jumar Nicariel Uligan,30; Grace Sta. Cruz,29; Nicole Figueroa,28; Arnold Viola,48; and Patrick Sta. Cruz,30, all residents of the province.

Uligan and the two Sta. Cruzes were identified as the maintainer of the raided drug dive.

Arrested Suspects:

Brig. Gen. Domingo said that recovered during the buy-bust operation were some 80 grams of shabu worth P544,000 and the boodle money topped by a marked P1,000 bill.

Discovered following a search of the place were five more plastic sachets containing at least 20 grams of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ valued at P136,000 and various drug sniffing paraphernalia including aluminum foils with shabu residue, improvised tooters and lighters.

Another buy-bust operation conducted 5:45 p.m. last Thursday at the open parking space beside the San Rafael National High School near the barangay hall of Bgy. San Rafael IV in San Jose del Monte City led in the arrest of Zoriada Aragasi,27; and Jefferson Calimquim,38.

Aragasi was found to be a resident of Phase 12, Block 54, Tala, Caloocan City while Calimquim, is from Phase 9, Bagong Silang.

Members of the DEG-SOU3 conducted the sting with the support of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, said Domingo.

Recovered from the possession of the duo were a plastic packet containing 100 grams of shabu valued at P680,000 and the marked money paid to them by an undercover officer.

All seven suspects are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said the PNP-DEG director.
