AT least 50 employees of Pasay City Hall and some members of their family and two janitorial staff suffered nausea or upset stomach, vomiting and diarrhea due to food poisoning after eating pancit Malabon Wednesday night.

Initial report showed that somebody from the City Treasurer’s Office who wanted to treat employees for a free snack ordered some winnowing basket or “bilao” of pancit Malabon in an unknown restaurant Wednesday afternoon.

Some of the employees decided to take home the leftover food which also caused their family to experience nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

Employees who were severely affected by alleged food poisoning were rushed to four different hospitals but were later sent home after treatment, except for four city hall workers who were placed under observation.

Latest information revealed that the City Health Office is now conducting investigation on the alleged food poisoning upon instruction of Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano.

Affected employees, mostly from the City Treasurer’s Office, were provided free medicine by the City Health Office and were instructed to undergo stool test.
