NAHARANG ng mga tauhan ng Bureau of Customs Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), at NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG) ang isang outbound express package na naglalaman umano ng P3.8 milyong halaga ng shabu.

Ang package ay idineklara umanong eyelash sets, electric hair dryers, at electric hairbrushes at naharang sa DHL Express Gateway Warehouse sa NAIA noong Lunes, Mayo 8.

Nakita umano ang kahina-hinalang laman ng package nang idaan ito sa x-ray kaya isinailalim ito sa physical examination at dito nadiskubre ang shabu.

Isang imbestigasyon ang isinagawa ng PDEA laban sa shipper at consignee ng package bilang paghahanda ng isasampang kaso.

Alinsunod sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., ipinag-utos ni Customs Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio ang pinaigting na pagbabantay sa mga border ng bansa.

“We will continue to be vigilant in our border protection efforts to prevent dangerous drugs and other contraband that come in and out of our country. This successful interception is a testament to the effective joint enforcement of our Customs and inter-agency partners against drug trafficking to prevent the worldwide spread of illegal narcotics, especially in the Asia Pacific Region,” sabi ni Commissioner Rubio.

Lalo pa umanong pag-iibayuhin ng Customs NAIA, na pinamumunuan ni District Collector Carmelita M. Talusan, ang ipinatutupad nitong border protection, pagsunod sa mga regulasyon ng BOC, at pagpapabilis ng proseso ng kalakalan habang inaabot ang target nitong koleksyon.
