Navotas hails drug buster cops, viral traffic enforcer

Drug BustersTHE city government of Navotas has recognized the exemplary performance of Navotas City Police officers and a City Traffic and Parking Management Office enforcer.

Through a Sangguniang Panlungsod resolution, the city commended 44 police officers who participated in a raid in Baguio that resulted in the confiscatiion of 574.8 kilos of shabu worth P3.9 billion and the arrest of a drug personality.

The officers also received a P250,000-cash incentive from the Navotas Anti-Drug Abuse Council.

Meanwhile, the city government lauded and gave a P10,000 incentive to traffic enforcer Mark Ferdinand Luzuriaga.

Luzuriaga went viral on social media after he was reportedly hit and choked by a Manila police officer who refused to be apprehended for driving a tricycle without a franchise.

The officer was later arrested by Navotas cops led by chief of police Police Col. Allan Umipig.

Mayor John Rey Tiangco thanked the Navotas police and Luzuriaga for carrying out their duty in spite of the danger it entails.

“Their bravery and faithful performance of their duty are worthy of emulation. They serve as an inspiration to all public servants and a reminder to everyone that no one is above the law,” he said.
