IMUS CITY, Cavite — The local government of Imus City formally opened the P1.4-billion state-of-the-art government center located on Pedro Reyes Street, Barangay Malagasang 1G on January 3, the first Monday of 2022.

City Mayor and Buklod Filipino Partylist 1st nominee Emmanuel Maliksi led the first flag raising rites together with Vice Mayor Ony Cantimbuhan and city dads.

“The whole month of January is moving-in to all departments, then in February next month, we will start the soft opening and in March 2022, we will formally open the new city hall to the public,” Maliksi said.

“For now, all the government transactions are in old government center in Barangay Poblacion, except for the Business One Stop Shop or BOSS program, which is now held in Malikising Kabataan building in Imus Pilot School compound until January 20, 2022,” Maliksi added.

As planned, the project, which was conceptualized and designed by the City Architect Office based on green architecture principles, will house the city’s executive and legislative buildings and other national government offices.

According to the building plan, the new center has energy efficient, environment friendly and accessible to the public.

The five-story executive building houses the Business One Stop Shop and other frontline services. The remaining floors house the offices of the city mayor, tourism and development, information, youth affairs and engineering, among others. It also has a fully equipped wellness space to ensure well-being and increase the productivity of the government workers.

The three-story legislative building houses the office of the vice mayor, the 12 city council members and other national government agencies, including the National Bureau of Investigation and the Commission on Elections. A session hall has been constructed adjacent to this building.
