Oil prices to go up

LOCAL oil companies are expected to announce their second consecutive week of fuel price increases next week.

In its fuel price forecast, Unioil said gasoline prices will go up by P0.50 to P0.70 centavos per liter, diesel by P0.50 to P0.60 centavos per liter and kerosene by P0.60 to P0.70 centavos per liter which will take effect on Tuesday.

However, majority of local oil firms bared that adjustment of pump prices would only take effect outside the calamity areas or provinces hit by Typhoon Odette.

The continued spiking of international oil prices and the dwindling threat of the Omicron variant caused the domestic prices to climb.
