THREE “notorious” suspected drug pushers who usually carried out their illegal drug peddling activities during the wee hours of the morning were arrested by authorities in a buy-bust operation Saturday before dawn in Caloocan and Navotas cities.

Caloocan Police Chief P/Col. Ruben Lacuesta said elements of Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by P/Maj. Amor Cerillo arrested two drug suspects at around 4 a.m. along Abbey Road 2, after handing a pack of shabu worth P9,500 to a police poseur-buyer.

The two were the subject of more than two weeks of surveillance and monitoring operations after elements of SDEU received a tip from their confidential informant that the suspects were peddling drugs in the early morning after midnight to avoid being caught by authorities.

Lacuesta said the arrested suspects yielded more or less 20 grams of shabu worth P136,000 and marked money consisting of one P500 genuine bill and nine pieces of P1,000 boodle money.

Earlier, at around 2:35 a.m. Navotas Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by P/Capt. Luis Rufo, Jr. arrested a 39-year-old suspect, of Tondo, Manila, after selling P500 worth of shabu to an undercover cop along Tanigue Extension, Bgy. NBBS Dagat-Dagatan.

When frisked, lawmen seized from him eight plastic sachets of shabu with a standard drug price of P 34,000 and the marked money used in the drug sting operation.

Navotas Acting Police Chief P/Col. Allan B. Umipig lauded the operatives of SDEU for the successful drug sting operation that led to the arrest of the third suspect, who tried to “boost” his illegal drug operation in the city.
