CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) Director Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay vows to sustain its internal “cleansing” campaign to regain the public’s trust and confidence as directed by PNP-OIC (Philippine National Police Officer-in-Charge) Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr.

From 2016 to date, 3,942 administrative cases have been filed against 6,236 erring PRO3 personnel, 880 are police commissioned officers, and 5,319 are police non-commissioned officers, while 37 are non-uniformed personnel which comprises a nominal 47% of the total number of PRO3 workforce which is 13,131.

Based on records from PRO3’s Discipline Law and Order Section (DLOS), the primary unit tasked to impose disciplinary action against erring policemen, 495 PNP personnel were dismissed from the police service while 536 were suspended, 55 were meted with demotion, 58 were forfeited of their salary, and 78 were reprimanded.

Meanwhile, 4,932 were acquitted from their administrative cases, while the remaining have yet to be resolved and awaiting decisions.

Baccay said those meted with disciplinary actions were given all due process during the duration of the investigation before final decisions were released.

“We will continue to weed out ‘hoodlums’ and punish the undisciplined among our ranks through the strict application of the punitive sanctions for violations of PNP rules and regulations at the same time, intensified counter-intelligence efforts against illegal activities of PNP personnel are being undertaken,” stressed the PRO3 director.
