SEVENTY-EIGHT lawbreakers were hauled to jail by Southern Police District (SPD) policemen last Friday, according to a report to National Capital Region Police Office director, Major General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. Sunday.

“This is part of our stepped-up effort to account for all wanted persons and other personalities involved in criminal activities in our jurisdiction,” SPD director Brigadier Gen. Leon Victor Z. Rosete told the Journal Group.

The official said on their 16th Warrant Day last Friday, they accounted for 73 various crime suspects.

Rosete said some of the captured law offenders were found to have been in hiding for many years.

One of them, alias George, has been hiding for 11 years and four months already before he was arrested in Makati City for robbery-extortion.

Another, alias Danilo, evaded arrest for nearly two years before he was caught in Taguig City by policemen for violation of the anti-bouncing check law.

One Paula, a wanted suspect for a theft case, has been hiding for 18 years until she was apprehended in Pateros.

The 4th suspect, identified as alias Robin, wanted for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 has been in hiding since 2020 before he was apprehended in Pasay City.

The 5th, alias Bernard, hid for nearly 13 years before a warrant for slight physical injuries issued against him was served by the Muntinlupa City police.

Alias Warlie had been in hiding for almost six years before he was arrested for theft in Las Piñas City.

On the same day, the official said five suspected drug personalities were also arrested in Pateros.

Recovered during the raid in Brgy. Tabacalera were 60 grams of shabu worth P408,000, assorted drug paraphernalia, a weighing scale and a cal. 45 pistol with four live ammunition.

Brig. Gen. Rosete said that his men raided the target residence at 7:55 p.m. Friday.

Arrested during the raid were alias Charlie, 55; alias Kim, 37, alias Jerome, 31, alias Ryan, 36, and alias Romar, 39.
