NCRPO leads signing of BSKE peace covenant

THE National Capital Region Police Office headed by Brigadier General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. on Monday led the signing of a peace covenant among all concerned groups during the October 30 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections aimed at making the Metro Manila polls as peaceful and orderly as possible.

NCRPO Deputy Regional Director for Administration Brig. Gen. Reynaldo M. Tamondong and Comelec-NCR director, Attorney Jubil S. Surmieda were present during the signing of the peace covenant which coincided with the Nationwide Multi-Sectoral Peace Assembly for BSKE 2023 at the NCRPO headquarters in Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City.

Also present during the event were representatives from the National Police Commission, the Departments of Interior and Local Government and Education, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Philippine Coast Guard, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, the Bureau of Fire Protection, the National Citizen’s Movement for Free Elections, Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting and the Philippine Information Agency.

During the ceremony, the NCRPO leadership also awarded the PNP Medalya ng Kagalingan to a number of Metro Manila police officers and men for their significant anti-drug accomplishments.

The awardees were Major Tirso Pascual of the Southern Police District; Captain Emmanuel Aldana of the Northern Police District; Cpt. Joey Salvadico of the Quezon City Police District; Master Sergeant Rojel Lopez of the NCRPO Regional Drug Enforcement Unit; MSgt. Ulysses San Diego of the Manila Police District;Corporal Joel Curiba of the Eastern Police District; Cpl. Mark Michael Acierto of the SPD; Patrolman Christian Parado of the SPD; and Pat. Vincent Irece of the NPD.

The PNP Medalya ng Papuri was also pinned on Cpl. Bonifacio Cudiamat of the EPD for his commendable anti-illegal drug accomplishments; Cpt. Rolly Magusib and SSgt. Jeremiah Perales of the MPD for their commendable effort to prevent a man from jumping at a Quiapo footbridge last October 13.

Also given the PNP Medalya ng Kasanayan for their outstanding commitment and leadership that significantly contributed to the NCRPO being no. 1 among the Police Regional Offices, PNP-wide for the Unit Performance Evaluation rating (UPER) for August 2023 were Colonels Rodel Pastor, Dominic Baccay, Romy Palque, Noel Fermin, Julius Guadamor, Celso Rodriguez and Villaflor Bannawagan.
