THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has apprehended a Syrian national for his alleged involvement in the proliferation of illegal drugs, including cocaine, kush, and ecstasy, in the cities of Mandaluyong, Makati, and nearby areas.

Mhd Alaadin Qwiader, also known as “Alaa L. Qweider,” was arrested by NBI agents based on a search warrant.

The NBI-Task Force Against Illegal Drugs received information that Qwiader has been selling illegal drugs, particularly cocaine, high-grade marijuana or kush, and ecstasy, mostly in the National Capital Region and at his bar in Makati City.

The suspect also allegedly supplies illegal drugs to high-end bars in Makati City, which sell them in their establishments’ comfort rooms.

During the search operation, NBI-TFAID operatives seized 8,681 grams of high-grade marijuana or kush, 511.5339 grams of cocaine, 4,512 tablets of different shapes and colors of suspected ecstasy worth P32 million, more or less.

Also seized were one Jericho 9MM pistol, one magazine pistol for 9mm ammunition, and fifty 9mm ammunition.

The result of a drug test conducted on the suspect revealed that he tested positive for cocaine use.

Qwiader is facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunitions. The case has been filed before the City Prosecutor’s Office of Mandaluyong City.
