OPERATIVES of the National Bureau of Investigation-Special Action Unit (NBI-SAU) have arrested a suspected Chinese drug pusher with 56 shabu pills worth P300,000 during a buy-bust operation.

NBI Officer-in-Charge (NBI) Eric Distor identified the suspect as Qizhi Li aka “Lao Lee”.

Apart from the pills, seized from the suspect were a metal canister with illegal drugs and one Tanfoglio 9mm caliber pistol with two magazines, and 21 live 9mm ammunition.

The suspect’s arrest stemmed from information regarding his alleged illegal drug activities. A surveillance operation was conducted to confirm the information.

On March 10, 2022, NBI-SAU planned a buy-bust operation and proceeded to Bgy. Poblacion. The operation resulted in the arrest of the suspect and seizure of illegal drugs.

The confiscated illegal drugs were forwarded to the NBI-Forensic Chemistry Division (NBI-FCD) for examination.

The suspect was presented for an inquest before the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act No. 9165 or “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,” and illegal possession of firearms in relation to Comelec (Commission on Elections) Gun Ban.

The suspect is currently detained at the NBI Detention Center in Manila.
