More NCRPO men, women undergo special training

MORE personnel of the National Capital Region Police Office are currently undergoing special training on urban warfare, marksmanship and special weapons and tactics to further improve their skills in responding to all kinds of emergency situation, NCRPO director, Brigadier General Jonnel C. Estomo said on Wednesday.

The NCRPO this week also opened its Project E.S.T.O.M.O. which is short for Extraordinary Self-Defense, Armed and Unarmed Tactics for Police Officers to Manage Peace and Order in the Community.

Apart from that, Brig. Gen. Estomo ordered the opening of three special courses being participated in by their men and women namely three classes of BISOC or Basic Internal Security Operation Course for Calendar Year 2022; two classes of Tactical Motorcycle Riding Course for male and female; and a Modified Handgun Marksmanship Training for female members of the Metro Manila police force.

Students of the PNP SWAT Course Class 01-2022 RNCR ‘Hinagiban’ Class have also finished their rigorous training on Tuesday following ceremonies held at the NCRPO grandstand in Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City.

The joint training ceremonies under the auspices of their Regional Learning and Doctrine Development Division headed by Colonel Julius S. Guadamar were attended by NCRPO Deputy Regional Director for Operations, Brig. Gen. Jack L. Wanky and NCRPO Chief Regional Staff, Colonel Lex Ephraim Gurat.

Forty beat patrollers from the five NCRPO districts are undergoing a 15-day Project E.S.T.O.M.O. training which is part of Brig. Gen. Estomo’s Project S.A.F.E. of short for a Metro Manila police force which is ‘Seen, Appreciated and Felt by the people.’

Brig. Gen. Estomo said that training aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of the participants on self-defense, both armed and unarmed tactics which they need as they patrol the streets of the metropolis 24/7.

A total of 257 NRCPO personnel are undergoing the BISOC; 100 policewomen are taking the modified marksmanship training while another 100 have been selected to undergo the tactical motorcycle riders’ course.

The NCRPO chief also commended his 36 men who have finished a grueling 65-day SWAT training. The 36 made a field demonstration the other day.

“Sana yung training ninyo, gamitin niyo sa kabutihan, lalong-lalo na yung para sa aking kampanya dito sa NCRPO, yung sinasabi kong S.A.F.E NCRPO,” said Brig. Gen. Estomo in challenging his personnel to perform their best as they secure the metropolis round-the-clock.
