COMBINED agents of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and the Police Regional Office 5 have captured the most wanted man in Bicol region who is facing a non-bailable case for 53 counts of rape, PNP-CIDG director, Brigadier General Ronald O. Lee announced on Wednesday.

According to the official, members of the CIDG Albay Provincial Field Unit, with the support of operatives from the PRO5 under Brig. Gen. Rudolph B. Dimas tracked down alias ‘Alpawr’ in his hiding place in Sitio Lilibdon in Barangay Ma-ogog in Jovellar, a 4th-class municipality in Albay province.

“We have accounted for another most wanted person in the country in line with our stepped-up enforcement of our Oplan: Pagtugis with the help of local territorial units, “ Brig. Gen. Lee reported to PNP chief, General Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr.

The PNP-CIDG director said that the suspect was arrested on Saturday last week on the strength of a warrant of arrest for a whopping 53 counts of rape issued by Judge Jose Demosthenes Salgado of the Ligao City Regional Trial Court Branch 12 on September 1, 2021.

Brig. Gen. Lee said they have received information that the arrested suspect is a known New People’s Army ‘supporter’ in Albay who has been monitored previously to be having meeting with known rebel personalities in the municipalities of Jovellar, Guinobatan, Ligao and Pioduran.

The suspect is now under the custody of the Albay CIDG pending the issuance of a jail commitment order.

“This is to continuously warn most wanted personalities that authorities, specifically the CIDG, are restless in its campaign to arrest all lawless criminals who are still in hiding thinking they are already beyond the reach of the law,” Brig. Gen. Lee said in the wake of the suspect’s arrest.
