THREE mobile police outposts deployed in Metro Manila’s so-called Entertainment City have proven to be crucial in stopping POGO or casino-related kidnappings and other forms of criminality in the area, National Capital Region Police Office director, Brigadier General Jonnel C. Estomo on Wednesday said.

The 3rd mobile outpost has been dispatched near the City of Dreams along Macapagal Avenue in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City as the NCRPO, on orders of Philippine National Police chief, General Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr. stepped-up its visibility in the area which was previously known to be a ‘hunting ground’ of Chinese kidnappers preying on POGO and casino workers.

Entertainment City, also known as E-City is a gaming and entertainment complex spanning an area of 8 kilometers in Bay City, Metro Manila. Also known as Bagong Nayong Pilipino Entertainment City or previously PAGCOR City, it is Asia’s Las Vegas-like gaming and entertainment complex located on the reclamation area in of Manila Bay.

Brig. Gen. Estomo said the mobile outpost near the City of Dreams is the latest to be established in areas of concern in Metro Manila as part of his S.A.F.E. or or a police force that is ‘seen, appreciated and felt by the public’ program.

He explained that personnel of the mobile outpost offer genuine police visibility as they are on standby and ready to assist the public in times of emergencies and extend safety services as the need arises.

The NCRPO chief said that the mobile outpost is designed to be easily transferred to places which demands police presence particularly in crime-prone areas or places of major public convergency like public transport terminals, shopping malls, markets, schools, Churches and the like.

He said that the mobile outposts will also be used during their Undas security preparations next month.

The 1st NCRPO mobile outpost was deployed at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) in the same barangay. The 2nd outpost is located near the approach of Skyway ramp along Macapagal Avenue.

Since their deployment, the NCRPO has not recorded any POGO or casino-related kidnapping incidents in the southern part of Metro Manila.

“As we intensify our S.A.F.E NCRPO program, the public can expert more mobile police outpost to be deployed in strategic areas here in the region,” Brig. Gen. Estomo said.
