THE Philippine National Police leadership yesterday said they have not monitored any destabilization plot against the Marcos Jr. administration as it maintained its commitment to follow the Constitution and duly-constituted authorities.

PNP spokesperson Colonel Jean S. Fajardo, speaking on behalf of PNP chief General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, maintained that there is ‘high morale’ in the 232,000-strong police force with the reforms being undertaken by the 30th top cop and thus, there is no reason for any active police personnel to join any effort to undermine the present administration.

She issued the statement in reaction to claims by former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV that active senior members of the PNP have been recruiting members to take part in a move to oust the Marcos administration.

Inuulit ko po, wala pong monitored na any destabilization plot for that matter,” said Col. Fajardo.

The official also appealed to Trillanes, a former Navy officer who was jailed thrice for rebellion during the former Macapagal-Arroyo administration, to ‘please spare the police force’ from politics.

Trillanes, who is said to be seeking the Caloocan City mayoralty post in 2025 had previously claimed the destabilization plot is brewing as the International Criminal Court is expected to issue a warrant of arrest against former President Rodrigo R. Duterte.

He said Duterte is banking on the support of his allies in the military and the police force as he is wary of the ICC move.

The PNP spokesperson also emphasized that the PNP ‘will always remain apolitical and will always uphold the Constitution and duly-constituted authorities.’

She also explained that Gen. Marbil is visiting different police regional offices not because of the alleged destabilization plot but simply because he wants his men to hear his policies and programs.

Fajardo said.

Col. Fajardo added that members of the police force know that heavy punishment awaits those who will be monitored to be involved in efforts to undermine the government.

Ang malinaw po dito, there are no monitored destabilization plot against the government,” Col. Fajardo said.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines had also vowed to fully support the Constitution and the chain of command following an ouster call against President Marcos Jr. by Davao del Norte Representative Pantaleon Alvarez during a recent rally in the province.
